Domaine Seguin-Manuel - Bourgogne wines

“If you are looking for affordable, well-crafted Burgundy, then look no further than here.” This is how Robert Parker speaks of the Domaine Seguin-Manuel and he is absolutely right.

Since Thibault Marion acquired and entirely overhauled the property in 2004, he has developed its reputation considerably. Everything there is implemented to produce high quality wines: respect of the environment, organic growing, manual harvest, strict grape selection, natural fermentation... Domaine Seguin-Manuel produces outstanding wines from the main appellations of Burgundy, which are unanimously well noted by all wine critics.
We completely fell for the estate's whites wines, which are simply superb - even the regional Bourgogne Chardonnay. We have picked different vintages for all of them, with the idea that they are all ready to drink now, though some might aged well for a few more years. Red wines are not to be forgotten, all showing a beautiful finesse and an elegant concentration, our favourite maybe being the Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, an absolute beauty!
In short, Seguin-Manuel is a little treasure which makes Your Sommelier very proud this week - especially since it is hardly available in the UK.

An aromatic Pinot Noir coming from Beaune and Savigny-lès-Beaune, with flavours of red cherry and a hint of pepper. Aged in oak barrels for a few months, it is fresh, elegant with light wooden notes. Tannins are soft and well integrated. Very pure on the palate, it will make happy any amateur looking for a light to medium-bodied Burgundy! * Delivery in...

A very special Bourgogne Chardonnay, as it is made with grapes coming from various plots around the village of Meursault. It is no surprise if the quality of this wine easily overcomes most Bourgogne Chardonnays. It has an expressive nose of white peach, flowers and light wooden notes. The palate is round and slightly buttery, mixing fruit aromas and a...

This Rully is made of old Chardonnay vines, providing the wine with more fruity flavours and making it more concentrated, for a better complexity. Flavours of ripe apple and hints of peach end up on a beautiful and fresh finish. An excellent bottle which will be perfect on seafood or white meat. Did you know? Rully is a popular Burgundy appellation from...

This Savigny-lès-Beaune comes from a single plot called "Godeaux", next to the 1er Crus of the appellation. It is a generous and charming red, showing an intense nose of summer red fruit (cherry, raspberry). The palate is fresh and mineral with velvety tannins. A very well crafted Pinot Noir which has been a huge success for Seguin-Manuel. This 2013...

Chassagne-Montrachet is one of the most prestigious village appellations of the Côte de Beaune, alongside Puligny and Meursault. The grapes here come from old Chardonnay vines planted on a plot called "Les Gougeonnes" and have been aged in oak barrels for 12 months. The result is a round, mineral and buttery wine, combining aromas of white fruit, flower...

Gevrey-Chambertin is one of the most famous appellations in Burgundy and it definitely gives amazing wines in the hands of a gifted winemaker like Thibaut Marion. Made from old vines in one single plot, this Gevrey is everything you can hope for with this type of wine. Beautiful aromas of black and red fruits nicely enhanced with a spicy touch,...

This is a cracking Meursault from 60-year-old-vines and of rich complexity. Buttery and floral aromas come together with flavours of lime, ripe apricot and peach. Tasting ends up with a long and toasted finish. A beautiful bottle that will show you why Burgundy white wines have this reputation. Just outstanding! * Delivery in 3-5 working days *

Vosne-Romanée is located in the Côte de Nuits and produces some the most remarkable wines in the world like La Tâche or La Romanée-Conti, which are two Grand Crus of the appellation. Even if this wine is not a Grand Cru, it still is an excellent wine and for a much better price. The nose is nice and intense, with aromas of red fruit, spices and tobacco....
