Languedoc Wine - Villa Symposia
Villa Symposia is a small estate in Languedoc which has been created by Éric Prissette, former owner of Château Rol Valentin in Saint-Emilion. With help from Stéphane Derenoncourt, the well-known adviser to famous Châteaux in Bordeaux, he found this great vineyard and made the first vintage in 2003. Since then, he and his winemaker Nenko Dunev have managed to build a strong reputation within a relatively short timeframe.
All wines from Villa Symposia are Organic since 2009 - "Certifié Agriculture Biologique", which means the grapes come from organically farmed vineyards - and tell a wonderful story about Languedoc wines. The huge work implemented in the vines and a great respect of the terroir have allowed them to produce fresh and fruity wines which are authentic and full of energy. A great example of Languedoc wines that we highly recommend.
Villa Symposia has been widely commented by several wine critics like Robert Parker, Guide Hachette and Master of Wine Rosemary George on her blog Taste Languedoc. All of them praise the wines from this rising estate! You will not be able to find it in the UK except on Your Sommelier this week; so do not miss this opportunity to discover a true great Languedoc estate!

On the palate, the wine has a good fruity structure with supple tannins. The finish is long with toasty notes coming from oak barrels. To our mind, this Cuvée is a big success and...
Origine is the confidential upmarket cuvée of the Domaine - a big and rich red made of old Syrah and Grenache coming from the best parcels. Aged in foudres - a traditional type of oak barrels - for about 16 months, it is an elegant wine full of black fruit, which shows an impressive structure with stylish tannins. It is a perfect blend of refinement and...
