Domaine Laporte - Loire Valley Wines
The Domaine Laporte is a beautiful 20-hectare estate in the Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé appellations, owner of some of the best vineyards in the area. It was created by the Laporte family in 1850 and was then acquired by the Bourgeois family in 1986, adding this prestigious Domaine to their even so prestigious family estate in Sancerre.
Each cuvée is elaborated according to the terroir where grapes are coming from and the domain is undergoing organic conversion, meaning that no pesticides or chemical fertilizers are being use at any stage in the process. White wines from Domaine Laporte are typical aromatic Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley, with nice minerality and complexity coming from flint and limestone soils. Red wines are light and fresh Pinot Noir and are gaining more and more recognition. All of them are consistently well rated by wine critics all over the world.
We have selected one bottle of each appellation that we think are the best examples of what each terroir can give. In addition we have also decided to offer a red and white Vin de Pays as great entry-level wines to discover the Loire Valley.
