Domaine Coste-Caumartin wine
Domaine Coste-Caumartin is the kind of winemaker you would love to visit during a Tour in Burgundy: a small family domain hidden in the middle of Pommard, run by absolutely charming people who love to share their passion for winemaking. They have been elaborating great wine for decades, using their own savoir-faire and traditional techniques to magnify each specific terroir they own. All their wines spend time in oak barrels to develop flavours and enhance their structures. As a result, they are fruity, elegant and complex. Definitely what we love in this part of Burgundy.
Pommard is among our favourite Burgundy appellations for red wines, which tend to be more bodied than other Pinot Noirs from this region. If you like Pinot Noir flavours and if you are sometimes disappointed by the light structure of some of these wines, you will love those Pommard. Have a try and you will be thrilled!
The domain also makes beautiful white wines. We have selected three of them; the ones we felt had the best quality for the price. A Burgundy Chardonnay, a beautiful Saint-Romain from a dedicated parcel – and the latest addition to the domain’s range, a superb Beaune Premier Cru, all oaked and deliciously toasted. We said Coste-Caumartin was a specialist of Pinot Noir but for our greatest pleasure, they also know how to work the Chardonnay!
