Bordeaux Left Bank Wine
Your Sommelier is travelling back to Bordeaux this week with a selection of reds and white from the left bank. All these wines came-up really well during our blind tasting, as we only wanted to get you the best in each price range.
The starter of our selection is Chateau Cabannieux, an amazing value for money domain in the Graves appellation that produces a delicious easy-drinking red and a nicely aromatic white.
Moving up in the range we have found this superb Cru Bourgeois, worth every penny if you like typical Haut-Médoc. Chateau Doyac is an old domain owned by a former banker that produces a Merlot dominant red with both good structure and a great finesse.
Finally the jewel of this selection is Chateau Desmirail, a 3eme Grand Clu Classé from Margaux and property of Denis Lurton. With a majority of Cabertnet Sauvignon, the 2010 vintage is even better than the famous 2009 and definitely worth it.
