Bourgogne Wine - Domaine d'Ardhuy
Domaine d’Ardhuy is a family estate in Burgundy which elaborates wines in the purest tradition. The vineyard is biodynamic certified and everything is made to respect the terroir of each parcel (read our blog on Biodynamic farming). Each of them is managed differently according to its specificity - grape variety, soil, exposure… “because you need grapes in excellent condition to make excellent wines”, according to Gabriel d'Ardhuy, the owner. Oak barrels are used with care to make sure wooden aromas do not hide the wine.
As a result, wines from domaine d’Ardhuy are among the very best we have recently tasted in Burgundy. Whites exhibit beautiful fruit and structure and show a pure expression of the Chardonnay grape. Reds are fine and elegant with subtle tannins. The domain being a specialist of the Ladoix appellation, this is also the perfect opportunity to discover these undervalued typical Burgundy wines. The Ladoix Premier Cru Rognet is simply amazing and much better than many Puligny Montrachet or Meursault! Last but not least, the estate owns plots of vines in various appellations - this is the perfect opportunity to go on a Burgundy tour and compare the wines.
