Domaine Olivier wine
Domaine Olivier is a small family producer with vines in Santenay, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pommard and Rully. Created in the late 60’s, it gained its reputation making outstanding white Santenay and has become one of the main and most acclaimed producers of this appellation. The Domain is a brilliant example of an independent, authentic and organic producer making wines with passion and care. We met the owner Antoine Olivier and loved his huge respect for nature, terroir and vines.
Primarily producing red wines, Santenay is a small 400 hectare vineyard located in Southern Côte de Beaune, where the most prestigious Burgundy whites come from. Reds are medium-bodied with intense fruity aromas; whites are round and subtle with delicate toasted notes on the finish. It is clearly a superb underrated appellation where you will get more for your buck - which is what we love. Do not miss the opportunity to try their other wines as well: the Chassagne-Montrachet, Pommard and Rully all deserve a try.
Santenay is the home village of Domaine Olivier and this cuvée is made of a strict selection of parcels within the Santenay appellation. It is a wonderful and easy-drinking wine, with a nose of fresh red fruit and a round, dainty palate. If you are wondering what a red Santenay should taste like, this cuvée will give you plenty to think about.
