Ferraton Père & Fils wine

Ferraton Père & Fils, Rhône Valley wines

Your Sommelier is always very proud to come up with this small family estate, one of the greatest references in Northern Rhône - and definitely one of your favourites. Created in 1946 by Jean Ferraton, it has been acquired by the famous Maison Chapoutier in 2004. They have magnified its exceptional potential by granting them full autonomy, while giving advice and helping on winemaking techniques. All vineyards are now biodynamic, meaning no chemicals are used on soils or plants.

"The quality at this tiny Hermitage-based estate continues to increase in almost every vintage" - Robert Parker.

Ferraton's most recognised wines are from their historic parcels in Hermitage and Crozes Hermitage - you will find some of them here. They also elaborate beautiful wines in other appellations, from an entry-level Côtes du Rhône to some upmarket Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie. In summary, you should be able to find a wine for every wallet!

The nose shows aromas of citrus and grapefruit and...

Thanks to its 40% of Syrah, this medium-bodied red exhibits multiple fruity aromas (raspberry, blueberry, blackberry) but also liquorice, spices and fresh herbs. Pretty complex for a plain Côtes du Rhône,...

A wonderful Côte-Rôtie here, we love it. Made of 100% Syrah, it develops flavours of red and black fruit, subtle spices and violet. Length of the finish is really striking, with a few complex notes of truffle, leather and toast. A beautiful bottle that is ready to drink! Did you know? Hermitage is probably the best terroir of the Rhône Valley and where the Syrah can produce the most exquisite wines. This 2011 Les Miaux combines power and finesse in the bottle, with silky tannins and a long persistent finish. On the nose, there are notes of black fruit, spice and liquorice.
