Affordable Bordeaux wine

Affordable Bordeaux wine

Bordeaux is not only about expensive classified Châteaux, and this time of the year is usually the opportunity for us to come up with our new "affordable discoveries" in Bordeaux - and traditionally one of our best-selling events. We have, as always, tasted many wines to show you this tight selection. Seven great bottles, all among the best you can find in their ranges.

Either from underrated appellations like Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, Saint-Georges-Saint-Emilion, Entre-Deux-Mers or more recognised ones like Médoc, Pessac-Léognan and Pauillac, all these wines have in common to be very reasonably priced and definitely worth discovering. Château Haut-Moulin is a wine that we’ve been following for a long time now and it has never disappointed us. Our latest discovery, Château Macquin, is a charming Saint-Georges-Saint-Emilion at a very sweet price! And don't overlook the whites - they are brillant as well. If you are keen on white Pessac, why don't you try Chateau Valoux?

There should be a wine for every budget and every occasion here, so just trust us and discover some lovely bottles that you might never have heard of - but luckily for you, we have!

Thanks to a delicate balance of different grape varieties - Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle - it boasts attractive fruit, and a finesse we really appreciate. A jolly good...

Médoc is an appellation where wines can be fantastic, but you need to pick wisely - just this one, for example. With nearly half of Cabernet Sauvignon, we loved its great flavours of concentrated black fruit, the big volume, some sweet spices and the mellow finish - its proximity with Saint-Estephe may certainly explain it! A brilliant Médoc from Château...

Château Cambon la Pelouse is another top choice Cru Bourgeois, praised by wine critics like Jancis Robinson or Robert Parker (Consistently one of my “best buy” choices).
