Château de Lascaux wines

Château de Lascaux wines

Château de Lascaux is a real treasure in the heart of the Pic Saint Loup area and has been in the same family for 13 generations! This appellation is the most Northern one in Languedoc, benefiting from the proximity of both mountains and sea - which creates a unique microclimate.

Under the management of Jean-Benoit Cavalier, the domain has gradually been converted to organic viticulture and produces pure, fresh and elegant wines. These are praised by amateurs and wine critics year after year, and are widely considered as excellent value for money. Château de Lascaux is known for its beautiful and intense red Pic Saint Loup, but do not skip the whites, as they are some of the best we had in the region. "Les Pierres d'Argent" is a truly amazing white, definitely in our Top 3 Languedoc whites!

Languedoc producers can also elaborate the most brilliant rosé wines, and this is the perfect example of a light-bodied rosé, just what we like for the summer. It exhibits some flavours of red fruit and apple, with a perfect acidity to keep it as fresh as possible. Ideal for an afternoon in the sun or even better, on a barbecue!

Coming from specific parcels, the high end white of the Château is wonderful. It shows clean aromas of apricot, peach and lime ending with a long, luscious, toasted finish. Wooden notes coming from French oak barrels are perfectly integrated and give a lot of balance and complexity, reminding some wines from Burgundy. This bottle is definitely in our top...

"Like all of Cavalier's wines, the purity of fruit here, as well as the texture, is outstanding. Drink this beauty over the coming 7-8 years.” - Robert Parker. This upmarket cuvée is indeed a beautiful, big red wine showing powerful aromas of black fruit, spices and wood. Not for the faint hearted, this is a hell of a Pic Saint Loup for true Languedoc...
