Mas de Sainte Croix Rhone Valley

Mas de Sainte Croix - Rhône Valley wines

Mas de Sainte Croix is a true, traditional Côtes du Rhône producer. With vineyards located in the middle of nowhere and mostly with a South orientation, the domain produces some of the most beautiful examples of Côtes du Rhône. Bought by the Coipel family in 2002, Mas de Sainte Croix has been modernised year after year to get the best possible quality. Furthermore, the altitude of the vineyards (400m) allows for a greater gap between day and night temperatures, which is ideal to enhance freshness and concentration of the wine.

The domain is mostly focused on Côtes du Rhône Villages Valréas, an upmarket appellation, very popular among amateurs for its expressive and complex reds, full of aromas and flavours. Make up your own mixed case to try them all and compare them – that would actually be a great tasting night!

Although the Domain is famous for its red wine range, it also makes this sexy and aromatic white worth discovering. Original aromas of white flowers and honey - typical from the Roussanne grape - a fresh palate with a long finish: if you are keen on white Côtes du Rhône wines, this is a great pick.

The nose exhibits a gentle fragrance of fresh ripe fruit (strawberry, black cherry) and spice. Palate is round, soft and fruity with spicy aromas in the background, ending on a touch of mint on the...

Côtes du Rhône Villages is the appellation just above Côtes du Rhône and winemaker has to follow stricter guidelines for this cuvée. Made of Grenache and Syrah - the classic Rhône grapes - this wine is deeply concentrated and offers beautiful aromas of black fruit and spices. As no oak barrel is used here, it is focused on fresh fruit and we love it....

"The Valreas Passion d’une Terre looks to be outstanding" Robert Parker - From the Côtes du Rhône Villages Valréas appellation, "Passion d'une Terre" is brillant, showing an astonishing complexity for this kind of price. Intense nose of red fruit and sweet spices, powerful and round palate with a long finish: a superb, yet affordable bottle - give it a...

"Like the Passion d’une Terre, it has real class" Robert Parker - Here is the top cuvée of the estate, a true little gem. Having spent 14 months is oak barrels, it exhibits concentrated flavours of blackcurrant and raspberry jam with a hint of liquorice and cedar box. Palate is highly elegant with a round structure and a generous finish. A superb bottle...
