Mas de Sainte Croix wine
Mas de Sainte Croix is a true, traditional Côtes du Rhône producer. With vineyards located in the middle of nowhere and mostly with a South orientation, the domain produces some of the most beautiful examples of Côtes du Rhône. Bought by the Coipel family in 2002, Mas de Sainte Croix has been modernised year after year to get the best possible quality. Furthermore, the altitude of the vineyards (400m) allows for a greater gap between day and night temperatures, which is ideal to enhance freshness and concentration of the wine.
The domain is mostly focused on “Cotes du Rhone Villages Valréas”, an upmarket appellation, very popular among amateurs for its expressive and complex reds, full of aromas and flavours. Make up your own mixed case to try them all and compare them – that would actually be a great tasting night!
Côtes du Rhône Villages Valreas is a specific upmarket local appellation, well known by true amateurs of the Rhône Valley. This cuvée is a deeply concentrated red offering beautiful aromas of black fruit and spices. As no oak barrel is used here, it is focused on fresh fruit and we love it. Definitely a top notch Côtes du Rhône Villages.
"The Valreas Passion d’Une Terre looks to be outstanding" (Robert Parker) - Still in the Côtes du Rhône Villages Valréas appellation but moving up in the range, "Passion d'une Terre" is brillant, showing an astonishing complexity for this kind of price. Intense nose of red fruit and sweet spices, powerful and round palate with a long finish: a superb, yet...
"Like the Passion d’Une Terre, it has real class" Robert Parker - Here is the "top notch" cuvée of the Domain, a true little gem. Having spent 14 months is oak barrels, it exhibits concentrated flavours of blackcurrant and raspberry jam with a hint of liquorice and cedar box. Palate is highly elegant with a round structure and a generous finish. A superb...
