Château des Bormettes Cotes de Provence

Château des Bormettes - Côtes de Provence Wines

Château des Bormettes is a beautiful estate overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, between Saint-Tropez and Marseille, that was completely reborn in 2010 when the owner decided to bottle the Domaine’s wines again. Thanks to the quality of the vineyard and the investments made, they are already getting a deserved recognition both by amateurs and critics. Your Sommelier is very proud to be their first partner in the UK, since this little gem is among the rising stars of the region.

While the Cuvée Tradition is a light and fruity Côtes de Provence to enjoy at any time, the Instinct Parcellaire is probably one of the best Rosé wines we’ve ever tasted!

Although the Provence region is famous for Rosé - over 90% of the production - one should not overlook other wines, which are definitely worth trying. Château des Bormettes is giving a very to special care to their reds and the result is just excellent. The Instinct Parcellaire Rouge is a great and powerful wine, with both structure and elegance. Due to very complicated weather conditions in 2014, only 1474 bottles were produced which makes it an extremely rare wine of an exceptional quality!

The first Rosé of the Château des Bormettes is the Cuvée Tradition, made mainly from Cinsault and Grenache, which are harvested at night to preserve the freshness and aromas of the grapes. It is the perfect entry-level Côtes de Provence, much better value than most of its peers: a light and refreshing wine, with lovely small red fruit flavours, a good...

A long time ago, the Provence region was known for its red wines and Yannick Burles, the winemaker of the Château des Bormettes, wanted to keep this ancient tradition alive by producing some typical red wines. The Cuvé Tradition is a blend of Syrah, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Grenache, aged for just a few months in oak barrels. It offers plenty of fruit...

Named after the highest point of the estate and made of a majority of old vines, the Pic Saint Martin is a brilliant ambassador of the Provence region. It delivers an expressive nose of fruits and a hint of black pepper. The mouth is round, well balanced, with beautiful smooth tannins and very fresh finish. A great match for simple meals, don’t be ashamed...

The Cuvée Helene takes its name from the owner, since it is said to be her favourite wine. Made of 100% Rolle – also known as Vermentino in Italy – and aged on fine lees, it is a very refreshing and fruity wine. The nose shows aromas of white flowers, followed by exotic fruits and a touch of lemon. At first it is fresh and light with flavours of citrus...

Probably one of the best Rosé we’ve ever tasted. Instinct Parcellaire is a very delicate wine made of carefully selected grapes and aged in concrete vats. The nose is complex and explosive, with notes of citrus, pineapple and white flowers. The mouth starts with delicacy and freshness to end in a long and salty finish. Named by The Decanter in their Top...

There are so many things about this wine that is hard to know where to start. Called Instinct de Survie or literally “Survival Instinct”, only 1474 bottles were made since most of the vineyard was damaged that year. Yannick Burles, the winemaker of Château des Bormettes, decided to make a strict sorting of the grapes which left him with only 13...
