Bordeaux Supérieur is one of the largest appellations in Bordeaux, in which it is difficult to pick the right wine - and Supérieur does not always mean better! Luckily we have done all the hard work for you and eventually found one of the best value wines in the area: Château Mirambeau Papin, a family owned vineyard North of Bordeaux. The 2012 vintage has...

Château Larrivaux is one of our top picks when searching for an entry-level Cru Bourgeois. The estate has been transmitted from women to women since the 15th century and is now managed by Bérangère Tesseron, who keeps the family tradition of high quality, affordable wines. The high proportion of Merlot (61%) makes it a delicious, fruity and velvety wine...

Château Cambon la Pelouse is another top choice Cru Bourgeois, praised by wine critics like Jancis Robinson or Robert Parker (Consistently one of my “best buy” choices). The vineyard is one of the oldest in Médoc and was replanted in 1976. The winery was renovated in the 1990's by its new owner, Jean-Pierre Marie, to get the most of its exceptional...

Chateau Moulin de Launay is very much a family estate. This dry white is the main focus of the 4th generation of the Greffier family, representing over 90% of the production. Thanks to a delicate balance of different grape varieties - Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle - it boasts attractive fruit, and a finesse we really appreciate. A jolly good...

Médoc is an appellation where wines can be fantastic, but you need to pick wisely - just this one, for example. With nearly half of Cabernet Sauvignon, we loved its great flavours of concentrated black fruit, the big volume, some sweet spices and the mellow finish - its proximity with Saint-Estephe may certainly explain it! A brilliant Médoc from Château...

Going up the range, we are now in Pessac-Léognan - home to delicious, well structured, spicy reds. Chateau Lamothe-Bouscaut is no exception, with an intense nose of black fruit and toasted notes. We really enjoyed its silky structure, overall balance and fresh tannins - very high quality here.

This offer of affordable Bordeaux was also the opportunity for us to find this bottle from Pauillac, one of the most upmarket appellations is Bordeaux. Chateau Mongrand Milon is stuck somewhere between the greatest names of the area - Mouton Rothschild, Latour, Lynch Bages. Made of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, this red exhibits classic Pauillac characteristics...

Château Valoux is an old wine estate in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, with a great terroir mostly made of clay and gravel soil - which is ideal for the magnificent Sémillon grape (80%). Aged in oak barrels, this wine is a beautiful example of the best white wine area in Bordeaux. You will love the fruity and crisp palate with the touch of hazelnut on...
