Your Sommelier is a big fan of Château Gloria: Created with small parcels coming exclusively from Cru Classés, situated right next to the prestigious Château Beychevelle and close to Pauillac, Gloria simply represents the best value you will find in Saint-Julien. It is always the perfect balance between body and elegance. The 2012 shows flavours of black and red fruit jam, and oak is already well integrated. A beautiful wine, better than many Cru Classés in this difficult vintage!

|What experts say|
17.5 "Deep crimson. Leafy and dark-fruited at the same time. Inviting. Deliciously and distinctively rich and full in the mouth but still shapely and refined. Plenty of tannin but all hidden in the fruit. Lovely harmony and so much more generous than most 2012s tasted at the UGC's London showing."
88 "The 2012 is a successful effort once again from Château Gloria, a property that has been on a major qualitative roll for decades. Dense ruby/purple in color, it has sweet, juicy, blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, no real evidence of any oak, but a fleshy, open-knit, meaty mouthfeel. Excellent purity, low acidity and ripe tannin all characterize this beautiful wine, which should drink well for 12-15 years. Another major sleeper of the vintage."
89 "Juicy plum and blackberry fruit is spiked with an overt savory edge that runs through the finish, picking up pepper, bay leaf and juniper notes. This has energy, but finishes with more chewy austerity than flesh. Might soften somewhat with cellaring. Best from 2016 through 2021."
90 "Good depth of black fruits, both succulent and fresh on the palate, ripe elegant flavours, Cru Classé standard."
14.5 "Intense robe, nose of plum and coffee. Silky texture with supple tannins. Good length."
Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is a 1er Cru Classé of Sauternes, and this 2012 is a brilliant bottle for sweet wines lovers. It offers amazing flavours of orange, lemon and honey, with a real complexity. The palate is rich, showing a perfect balance. Some spices on the very long finish provides even more complexity. A truly beautiful sweet wine that would be...
