Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is a 1er Cru Classé of Sauternes, and this 2012 is a brilliant bottle for sweet wines lovers. It offers amazing flavours of orange, lemon and honey, with a real complexity. The palate is rich, showing a perfect balance. Some spices on the very long finish provides even more complexity. A truly beautiful sweet wine that would be perfect with a foie-gras, blue cheese or pudding!

|What experts say|
16.5/20 "Pale and cloudy. Delicate pear and citrus notes, as if still marked by fermentation. Texture is deep and almost thick, flavours match the nose with a sour freshness on the finish. Lively, on the lighter side in the middle but making the most of all the components."
90/100 "The 2012 Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a slightly earthier bouquet compared to the 2011 with touches of lemon peel, honeysuckle and orange zest. The palate is well balanced with a noticeably spicy entry. Moderate weight in the mouth, quite vibrant with good botrytis if not the depth and elegance of the previous vintage. This will probably be earlier drinking than the 2011, but it is finely crafted."
89/100 "Plump, rich and forward, with lemon curd, creamed pineapple and heather honey notes that drape over the green plum—tinged finish. A solid effort for the vintage. Best from 2016 through 2022."
87/100 "Well-made, elegant Sauternes with sweet honeysuckle and white Thai jasmine notes. This is a medium-bodied sweet wine with nice depth and freshness."
17/20 "A great success; chalky, spicy, with almond, pomegranate and orgeat. The mouth has spice and Sichuan pepper."
