"This is a terrific wine" - Robert Parker. Château Charmail is a hidden gem in the Cru Bourgeois world, and we have been lucky to get our hands on this 2015, an outstanding vintage in Bordeaux. Very consistent over the years, it has a growing and well-deserved reputation. Medium to full-bodied, it shows fine aromas of small berries and spices, ending on a light wooden touch. Tannins are present but well-balanced. A perfect wine for a festive meal, absolutely ready to drink now or in the next few years.

|What experts say|
88/100 "Good Cabernet-Merlot blend showing both flesh and charm. A very attractive wine."
16/20 "41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, 11% Petit Verdot. Dark purplish crimson. Very light nose. Sweet start. Easy to like – already accessible – even if sweeter than classic claret."
87/100 "Aged for 12 months in 25% new, 25% one-year-old and 50% two-year-old French oak barrels and a blend of 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 11% Petit Verdot, the 2015 Charmail is medium to deep garnet-purple in color with an enticing nose of crushed black currants and black raspberries notes with touches of spice box and dried leaves. Medium-bodied, it offers a good amount of juicy black and red fruits with grippy tannins and appealing freshness."
91/100 "This ripe wine has dusty tannins, a good balance between fruit and tannin, and considerable potential. The dry core of tannins will soften while the black plum and berry fruits are already juicy and rich. This wine will age well."
88/100 "Sanguine-edged red and black currant fruit mixes with an iron hint before following through on a tobacco-edged finish in this red, which is not big, but has some range and purity. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot." (previous vintage)
