Château Doyac is an excellent Cru Bourgeois to have at home. With 75% of Merlot, it is round, fruity and has a lot of personality. Aromas of blackcurrant, cherry and mint. Palate has a nice structure with pepper, vanilla and coffee notes. Tannins are both powerful and elegant. Good complexity for this price range and we definitely recommend this 2011, which is absolutely perfect to drink now!

15.5/20 "80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Bright reddish crimson. Sweet cocoa notes on the nose as though it has been given a bit of oaky make-up. Just a tad skinny - and sweet - on the palate. Could do with slightly fresher, more direct fruit. But it is relatively flattering."
89/100 "Dominated by Merlot (75%), this is a ripe and smooth wine. At present, the 12-months wood aging shows strongly, leaving behind the black fruits and mineral texture. It's a wine for some serious aging, so don't drink before 2018."
"Warm and persistent, the oak is nicely integrated in the wine, enhancing the fruity flavours with a touch of vanilla. Attacking smoothly, the palate is developing ripe tannins without being aggressive. A rather round Haut-Médoc, easy to marry with any dish."
