Chateau Haut Pougnan 2016 Bordeaux

Château Haut Pougnan is a family estate of 50 hectares located in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers, on the slopes of the right bank of the Garonne river, benefiting from a superb limestone and gravel soil. This wine is a classic Bordeaux blend of Merlot (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) and Cabernet Franc (10%), aged for 12 month in oak barrels. Merlot provides a nice fruity taste to the wines, while Cabernet Sauvignon brings structure and depth. Medium-bodied, very well-balanced with melted tannins and some vanilla notes on the finish. Classic Bordeaux definitely worth discovering!

86/100 "A fruity, perfumed wine that has attractive acidity as well as spice. The black currant fruit gives the wine a crisp edge as well as an easy approachability. Drink now."
