A great wine from this prestigious appellation. It has a rich palate and gives a burst of black berry flavours and sweet spices. Very well balanced, really complex with a very long finish, this bottle is a must. Very fine wine! Since such big wines require a bit of bottle ageing before consumption, we have picked this 2007 vintage, which is perfect to drink now – or to wait a few more years in your cellar.

A word about the domain
Maison Henri de Villamont was founded in 1889 in Savigny-lès-Beaune and has been part of the Swiss group Schenk since 1964. Heavy investments have been made in the last decade by the group to develop the potential of this domain and its négociant range. One was to hire Pierre Jehan, a highly recognised Burgundy winemaker, in order to get that incredible consistent quality in their wines. Villamont produces reds and whites both from their own domain and from meticulously sourced grapes they buy form partner vineyards. Today, their wines are exported all around the world and can be found in the best Michelin-starred restaurant, which obviously speaks for itself.
