|A word about the domain|
|It all really started in the 1930’s when the Marquis de Jouennes d’Herville, grandfather of the actual owners Amaury and Aurore Devillard, decided to bottle the first red Mercurey at the estate. This marked the creation of the Château de Chamirey as a wine estate that has since then produced some of the best Mercurey reds and whites. With 37 hectares in total, including 15 hectares of 1er Crus, Château de Chamirey is one of the largest estates of Mercurey and also one of the best in quality. The Devillard family has always played a huge part in the reputation of the appellation by always maintaining high standards in their production. The vineyard is run in “culture raisonnée”, which limited at the minimum the use of chemicals, and using traditional winemaking techniques.|

About the wine
WineSpectator: 89 (Issue: Aug 31, 2010)
"Round and concentrated, featuring peach, lemon custard and baking spice flavors. A touch of acidity needs to be integrated, and the finish is long."
"What a finesse with this wine that expresses very subtle dried fruits and white flowers. The mouth is not imposing but subtle, very soft and vibrant, with a very discreet tart."
Bettane & Dessauve: 14
"Remarkable Mercurey under construction, already beautiful. Wait for it would be reasonable"
