This Chablis is also coming from the "Mont de Milieu" parcel but is made of from 80 year-old, low-yielding vines. 30% of the wine is aged in oak barrels. As a result it is a fruity, structured Chablis with intense aromas of exotic fruit and a hint of hazelnut. Very, very elegant Chablis which we can only recommend, especially to amateurs of more buttery Chardonnay.

93/100 "The 2015 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu Vieilles Vignes comes from a parcel of 83-year-old vines that is raised for 16 months in 60% stainless steel and 40% demi-muids. It has a wonderful, expressive bouquet of yellow fruit, flint and a touch of melted wax that feels detailed and transparent. The palate is very well balanced, with a fine thread of acidity that cuts through the lightly honeyed fruit, and a dash of spice enlivening the finish that feels very composed and harmonious. Bravo. This was a real find (and found under blind conditions, incidentally)."
16/20 "The Mont de Milieu Vieilles Vignes from Château de Fleys might just be the best bargain in Chablis!"
90/100 "Pale yellow with green tints. Profound nose intermixing floral notes with a subtle touch of honey and toasted mineral undercurrents. Ample, closely-integrated, soft attack leading into a fresh mid-palate with tangy accents. Beautiful, mineral-driven length." (previous vintage)
