The classic Chablis of Château de Fleys is a great example from the appellation, showing an elegant nose of white flowers and peach. On the palate, aromas of citrus and pear take over, with a mineral touch and a clean finish. Definitely a good value Chablis, to be discovered!

87/100 "The 2016 Chablis Villages is raised entirely in stainless steel. It has a simple, sherbet-tinged bouquet that is pretty, if missing some complexity and mineralité. The palate is nicely balanced and there is good body here, with well-judged acidity and perhaps just a little new oak smoothing out the walnut, almost Meursault-like finish. Fine."
2** "The Philippon family has kept the basic with a traditional vinification in tank to get this remarkable bottle, very typical of Chablis. The intense nose of white flower is not betrayed by the palate, which, in addition to this floral profile, presents a great mineral freshness. A powerful and harmonious Chablis, made to last." (previous vintage)
90/100 "Light gold. Enticing smoky, mineral nose showing white flowers notes. Lots of personality on the palate. Distinctively Chablis, as much as for its softness and racy flavours as for its well-proportioned structure. Young and fiery, needs decanting. Wonderful." (previous vintage)
"The Unavoidable" is the latest effort from the Domain to stick to current trends and customer preferences. 30% of the wine is vinified is oak barrels - something quite unusual for a Chablis, although this practice is gaining ground year after year. The result is a slightly more structured wine, with hints of white flowers, toast and smokyness on the...
Le Clos du Château is the latest cuvée form the Philippon family, made exclusively form vines located around the Château and inside closed walls - which is called a "Clos". This small plots has been managed within the sustainable Agriculture practice - no chemicals, manual harvest - and has been ages for 20% in oak barrels. The result is a slightly more...
"Les Fourneaux" is a tiny and beautiful Premier Cru plot with a South West exposure. This sunny vineyard gives intense aromas of ripe yellow fruit and flowers; it's lovely buttery structure is balanced by a refreshing minerality. A really elegant Chablis Premier Cru, which has everything we can expect from an unoaked Chardonnay and a little bit more, with...
"Mont de Milieu" is THE parcel Château de Fleys is famous for, and is also one of the most prestigious in Chablis. A Mont de Milieu for just £21 is pretty rare... Also lying towards South, these vines are ideally located and produce powerful and fruity Chablis. Coming from 50 year-old vines, it is a remarkably well structured and concentrated wine with...
This Chablis is also coming from the "Mont de Milieu" parcel but is made of from 80 year-old, low-yielding vines. 30% of the wine is aged in oak barrels. As a result it is a fruity, structured Chablis with intense aromas of exotic fruit and a hint of hazelnut. Very, very elegant Chablis which we can only recommend, especially to amateurs of more buttery...
