Le Parc 2013 Languedoc Saint Georges d’Orques - Château de l’Engarran

Le Parc is the absolute cherry on the cake. Yes, it is an expensive Languedoc wine, but we have never tasted anything as such in the region. Le Parc is a huge, full-bodied and explosive red, made of 100% Syrah coming from a specific parcel. It shows an incredibly concentrated nose of roasted blackcurrant, cassis and eucalyptus. The palate is really powerful with notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Make sure you keep a place in your cellar for a while, it is far from being ready to drink...

Expert.pngWhat experts say

90/100 "A rich, concentrated effort that’s comprised of 80% Syrah and 10% each of Grenache and Mourvèdre, the 2013 Languedoc St Georges d’Orques le Parc has a touch of heavy handed oak (it was aged in 100% oak) to go with lots of chocolaty dark fruits, medium to full-bodied palate weight and good overall freshness, which is no doubt a trait of the cooler vintage. Obviously well-made, give it a year or two in bottle and it should keep for a decade after that."
