A classic and very well made Côtes du Rhône. Simple, fruity and juicy with aromas of red and black berries and a peppery finish, it is delicious on a barbecue or with any red meat. A very well structured red, very well balanced and yet really affordable. You will be happy to have a few bottles at home at any time.

A word about the domain
When buying Château Saint-Roch in 1998, the objective was to apply their know-how from Château de la Gardine to develop the domain - and they have been very successful. They produce more affordable wines from Lirac and Côtes du Rhône appellations. Their wines are generally fruity and easy to drink, they all are a pleasure to drink and a good example of what a nice Côtes du Rhône can taste like. Definitely highly recommended.
What experts say
About the domain:
Bettane & Desseauve: 2* (Good production)

About the wine:
Robert Parker: 86 (Wine Advocate #209 Oct 2013)
"The 2012 Cotes du Rhone is a good, lively wine that has classic pepper, mineral and bright berry fruit. Traditional, well-made and with juicy acidity, it’s a solid mid-week drinker. Drink now-2017."

Le Guide Hachette des Vins: 1* (Very good wine)
"Well known to our readers for its Lirac, thisdomain also treats well its "simple" Côtes du Rhône. This blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah grown on the clay-limestone slopes of a communal appellation, is nothing simplistic and immediately sedices by its mix of black and red fruitsenhanced by chocolate and animal notes. The sharp attack opens onto a large and burly palace. Drink straight away on a dish of character, or wait two years for more melted.
