Also known for its goat cheese, Valençay is a small town in south-east Touraine producing red wines made of local grapes: Gamay, Pinot Noir, Côt (the local name for Malbec) and sometime Cabernet Sauvignon. This traditional blend is quite unusual and makes red Valençay wines very interesting! This bottle offers an intense nose of fresh red fruits, pepper and a nice smoky touch. The palate has volume, intensity, roundness and a beautiful silky finish with persistent red fruit flavours. Great wine, especially if you want to discover something new and away from the classic single varietal wines!
