16/20 "Vibrant crimson. Very confident, concentrated, well-balanced blend. So appetising and ready. Merlot much in evidence. GV"

Bronze Medal at Decanter World wine Awards "Blackberry, cedar and tobacco leaf nose, and a youthful, dark, and concentrated palate. Well structured, with ripe, glossy blackberry fruit and hints of cocoa and vanilla."

1* “Fine and complex on the nose, this 2011 mixes a light vanilla and toast oak with notes of small fruit compote. Combining sweetness and vivacity, the palate shows great aromatic freshness and soft tannins. This classic wine, already pleasant, will be fully blossomed in three or four years.”

86/100 “Beautiful concentrated colour, still young. Toast, smoke and wood dominates the nose with pretty aromas of ripe red and black fruits in the background. The mouth seduced by its good balance of fruit and wood. Tannins are melted and freshness joins flexibility. A successful making.”

As an entry level to the Margaux appellation, the second wine of Château Haut-Breton Larigaudière is an easy-drinking elegant wine. It benefits from all the great care given to the vineyard and though it is elaborated with younger vines, it is still a typical Margaux. Round and feminine with melted tannins, it will please anyone who likes the Margaux style.

Second wines can sometimes represent a great opportunity, especially in an amazing vintage such as 2010. La Dame de Baladoz 2010 is a lively and vibrant red offering elegant aromas of red fruit and cedar box in the background. Very well made wine with soft tannins, perfect for any amateur of Bordeaux, and Saint Emilion in particular.

Château Tour Baladoz is a lovely and typical Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, property of the Shepper family - also owner of Château Haut Breton Larigaudière in Margaux. The blend is dominated by merlot, making it a round and fruity red with notes of spring flowers and a nice wooden touch. The 2011 vintage has had time to assimilate its 18 months in oak barrels...
