A word about the domain
The domain of Maucaillou was created “only” in 1875, which can explain why it was not included in the 1855 Classification. Owned by the Dourthe family for four generations who have always maintained the high standard of the Chateau and the great care the family has always provided to the vineyard. With 90 hectares spread across Moulis and the Haut-Médoc, the Chateau produces 4 different wines but treat them all with the same care to produces quality wines, from the affordable easy to drink Bordeaux Supérieur to the more complex and perfectly balanced Château Maucaillou.
