Known as Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s little brother, Gigondas wines definitely have their own character and an growing reputation. This 2016 from Domaine Brunely is a blend of Grenache (80%) and Mourvèdre (20%) aged in concrete vats - no oak at all. The result is a medium-bodied wine, developing aromas of ripe back fruit (blackberry, prune), herbs, spices and a light vanilla scent. Very soft tannins give a smooth and velvety palate, ending in a long finish. A superb wine to drink now or to keep for a few more years.

16.5/20 "Very dark crimson. Meaty, opulent, exotic nose. Already quite complex. There seems to be some Syrah here. Much drier and stricter than most on the palate. Interesting! A long-term wine." (previous vintage)
91/100 "The Gigondas shone brightly during my blind tasting of the appellation thanks to its lifted, raspberry-like fruit and peppery notes. It's medium to full-bodied with a creamy, lush texture and hints of licorice on the supple finish. Drink it over the near term." (previous vintage)
Southern Rhône rosé are becoming more and more popular as they offer a great alternative to the pale and light rosé from Provence. This Ventoux Rosé, made of Grenache and Cinsault, has a deep pink colour but remains medium-bodied and full of lovely red fruit aromas - strawberries, cherries and raspberries - with a slightly floral finish. Great wine for a...
A wonderful Côtes du Rhône Villages from the small appellation Massif d'Uchaux. This wine was the greatest surprise of the line-up from the Domaine, they were all excellent but this bottle was the cherry on the cake! There is an unexpected complexity here, it opens on aromas or ripe black fruits and spice, tannins are extremely well integrated to the wine...
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a top wine from a stellar vintage - 2015 has been recognised by many experts as among the best vintages in the Rhône Valley. The Grenache and Syrah grapes are aged in oak barrels for 12 months before blending and a further 12 months in concrete vats. It gives a rich and dense wine that can be drunk young and that should aged...
White wines represent less than 3% of the total production in the Vacqueyras appellation, mainly known for its full-bodied reds. Made from the typical Rhône Valley white grapes - Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Viognier - and aged in tanks on lees, it is a medium to full-bodied wine, with aromas of stone fruits (apricot), citrus and a floral...
