Pré des Gours is a powerful and complex Pouilly-Fuissé, with only a few hundred bottles produced every year. The grapes come from a tiny plot of 1.24 acres – or 0.5 hectare - on the hills of Vergisson and have spent over 20 months in oak barrels before being bottled. It opens on a fine nose of yellow peach, vanilla and toast. On the palate, the wine then develops notes of apricot, a discreet hint of honey and dried fruits. Long finish with a nice aromatic persistance. Great wine if you like oaked Chardonnay, it should aged very well for a few more years.

The Mâconnais is also home to another famous appellation, Saint-Véran. It is one of the most popular name from South Burgundy, producing delicious wines at a great price. This one is no exception: it shows concentrated aromas of ripe yellow fruit, a great structure and a long finish. Just amazing with a white fish. This Saint-Véran is available in limited...
Next in range is this brilliant Saint-Véran that any amateur of sharp and fresh Burgundy would love. The chardonnay grapes are from a Southwest-facing plot called Les Chatenays and aged only in vats (so no oak barrel). The result is a delicate and balanced wine delivering aromas of citrus, white flowers and a nutty touch. Definitely a great wine to open a...
One of the top cuvées of the domain made from old vines of Chardonnay - over 50 years old - planted on the hill of Solutré. It had the same winemaking and ageing as "Les Crays" but the old vines bring an extra layer of richness while keeping it fresh in the end. It's probably one of the best Pouilly-Fuissé we've had, competing easily with great whites...
Domaine Carrette is a family estate from Vergisson that we absolutely love and this Mâcon Milly-Lamartine is a great value wine from a small vineyard of 1.5 hectares in sustainable farming. A simple and fresh Chardonnay with pure minerality, very typical of the Mâcon area. On the palate, aromas of citrus and flowers end up with a very decent finish. A...
Pouilly-Fuissé is the star appellation of the Mâcon area and this bottle is the first of three we have selected this week. With about 6 months spent in oak barrels, it has the roundness and toasted notes typical of white Burgundy. Aromas of flowers, white fruits and nuts are nicely mixed with a mineral touch at the end. If you like oaked Chardonnay, this...
Les Crays is an oaked Pouilly-Fuissé coming from one of the best plots of the appellation, in the Vergisson Village. A very generous Chardonnay with a supple and complex palate of ripe white fruit, spices, and a long, very long nutty finish. Absolutely delicious, it's a high-class white Burgundy that received a stunning 95/100 from the Decanter Magazine!...
