Saint-Véran 2016 - Domaine Sangouard-Guyot

Saint-Véran is one of the appellations of the Maconnais in South Burgundy, it is a lovely Chardonnay with a mineral nose of white fruit, flowers and a touch of citrus. The wine is rich and round with a perfect balance between freshness, intensity and the aromas of ripe fruits. Definitely a great Saint-Véran, ready to drink today and worth every penny!

Mindful of traditions, Pierre-Emmanuel leaves this cuvée in oak barrels as his ancestors used to do. Cuvée Quintessence comes from one of the best vineyards of Vergisson - "Le Clos des Croux" in the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. The nose is complex and reveals so much about the personality of the wine. It shows aromas of citrus and gently toasted fruit. On the palate, a nice minerality perfectly balanced with the subtle toasty notes provided by the oak. A...
