What experts say

91-93/100 "Another offering from proprietor Jean Guyon, the 2009 Haut-Condissas possesses terrific concentration, perfect balance, and lots of black currant and blueberry fruit intermixed with forest floor, incense, and cedarwood. Viscous, rich, full-bodied flavors with abundant glycerin as well as fine elegance and purity reflect a top-notch effort. This impressive sleeper of the vintage can be enjoyed over the next 10-15 years."

16/20 "Dark purple. Rich nose with notes of yeast extract. Sweet and supple. Very easy and luscious and complete with a bit of polish. Lots of oak but enough fruit to last, I think."

17/20 "Very classy nose, very good expression of northern Médoc with richness and deep tannins in balance."
90-93/100 "Offers a solid core of mineral, berry and light vanilla aromas and flavors. Full and racy, with a long finish. Well done."
** (Remarkable wine) "In this special cuvée from domain Rollan de By, petit verdot cabernets grapes join the Merlot to give the wine an expressive nose: cassis, cherry, black currant supported by great wooden notes, coming from 18 months spent in oak barrles. On the palate, the power of round and fat tannins is in harmony with red berries and toast, suggesting a few years in the cellar will be ideal before driking it on a venison steak."
17.5/20 "Exceptional wine. This small Cuvée easily competes with much more prestigious wines. Dense, full and rich, but digestible."
