Château Fabre-Gasparets "La Serre" 2014 - Corbières-Boutenac

This cuvée - produced in a tiny quantity - is the top of what the Fabre family can do, giving it a very special care. Old vines of Carignan bring in a huge personality: Dark colour, intense nose of spices, rich palate of cassis and spicy flavours. Tannins are still present but show a beautiful harmony. Definitely a wine to keep for a few years in your cellar to enjoy it at its best.

What experts say

92/100 "Made by Louis Fabre and all from the limestone soils of the Boutenac cru inside the Corbières, the 2012 Corbieres Boutenac La Serre is a fabulous wine that does everything right. Made from 32% Syrah, 30% Mourvèdre, 20% Carignan and the balance Grenache, hand harvested (which unfortunately isn’t as common in the Languedoc as it should be), and aged 12 months in French oak, it has tons of chalky minerality and liquid rock characteristics to go with beautiful dark fruit, peppery, and garrigue aromas and flavors. These give way to a classic, balanced, medium to full-bodied red that has top notch purity and the class to drink nicely for another decade." (2012 vintage)

The Languedoc is one of the main producers of Rosé in France thanks to a warm and dry climate. Some are very Provence-like, just like this very refreshing cuvée: light, fresh and fruity rosé (raspberry, apple), just as we like it. Though it is not quite summer yet, but who says we can’t enjoy a nice glass of rosé in front of the fireplace!
