Saint-Joseph is another typical appellation from Northern Rhône where Syrah is the only permitted grape for red wines. This bottle shows powerful aromas of red fruit and flowers and a long, spicy finish. A very well made bottle, still quite young so if you have the patience, we would advise to wait a couple of years to enjoy it better...

|What experts say|
89/100 "The medium to full-bodied 2016 Saint Joseph La Source features aromas of espresso and baking spices. On the palate, it's tart and taut but not ungenerous, with smooth, silky tannins and a decent finish. Drink it over the next 4-5 years."
93/100 "A light honeyed edge adds intrigue to the core of apricot, yellow apple and star fruit flavors, while heather and salted butter notes fill in on the finish. Provides opulence without sacrificing freshness. Drink now through 2019."
16/20 "Simple nose and palate with black fruit and thick, mouth-coating tannin on the palate. Peppery finish. Quite a mouthful for now – leave for a few years to settle. (RH)"
