The Estate Reserve is Glenelly's signature blend. It is mainly made of Syrah, bringing spicy flavours, and Cabernet Sauvignon, providing structure. It spends 18 months in French oak barrels to offer an elegant and complex bouquet of blackcurrant and spicy plums, with notes of cedar and toast in the background. The palate has a great intensity and concentration with elegant and well-structured tannins, leading to a long luscious finish. A complex and aromatic red, at an incredible price given the quality.

17/20 "Deep ruby. Fine peppery, rocky dark-fruit aroma, a touch smoky, adumbrating freshness and elegance, and just the merest hint of Stellenbosch's leafy side. Complex on the palate, cedar, cigar box, black olive and still some lovely non-sweet black fruit. Bone-dry finesse to the tannins and lovely freshness and just a suggestion of bitter chocolate on the finish. Super-refined and surely with a good life ahead. (JH)"
