Chinon 2016 Château du Petit Thouars

Château du Petit Thouars is a beautiful family estate in the heart of the Loire Valley, which has been in the family since the 17th century. The 15-hectare vineyard around the Château was developed in the 1970’s by the family and is now producing excellent wines in a very traditional way. This Chinon, made of Cabernet Franc, is a light to medium-bodied red wine of bright red colour, with plenty of red fruit aromas - wild strawberry, red currant, cherry - very fine tannins and a nice fresh finish. Its light tannins and red fruit notes will pair very well with hard cheese like Ossau Iraty, Comté or mild Cheddar.
