Elégance is the flagship bottle of the domain, from the rising appellation of Pic Saint Loup. And let's be honest: it is a steal at £13! Nose shows aromas of gooseberry and backcurrant with a touch of olive. On the palate the wine is round, fresh and gives a deliciously fruity mouthfeel, ending with a spicy finish. Your Sommelier just loves it!

What experts say

About the wine (New vintage, review on 2012)
Jancis Robinson: 17/20
"60% 20-year-old Syrah, 40% 30-year-old Grenache on a clay-limestone hillside - small plots surrounded by holm oak, pine and garrigue. Hand-harvested, no insecticides or pesticides, yield 30 hl/ha. 10 months in tank. Ripe, luscious, lavish fruit tumbles out of the glass – the kind of wine you just want to hold to your nose and breathe in deeply. Little of bit char, little bit of liquorice. Just as plush on the palate, like toasted, wild, sweet red berries encased in velvety tannins and tightened with a vibrating cello string of acidity. There is garrigue right at the beating heart of this wine. It tastes of the rugged windswept peaks and the spicy herbs from where it comes. Singed cedar and smoky tea leaf. Rosehip and a bit of tangy cherry then gliding slowly into a quiet, understated and finely textured finish, the tannins really only making their presence felt right at the end with a gentle chamois-leather rub. Very good. (TC)"

Gault & Millau: 15/20
"A delicious ripe and spicy fruit, balanced by a touch of mint and pepper. The palate and round and supple, finely spicy with a juicy finish”
