Côtes du Rhône Villages Valréas Quintessence 2015 Mas de Sainte Croix

Côtes du Rhône Villages Valréas is a small appellation located around the village of Valréas, in the Southern part of the Rhône Valley. This wine is the top cuvée of the Mas de Sainte Croix estate and a true little gem! Having spent 14 months is oak barrels, it exhibits concentrated flavours of blackcurrant and raspberry jam with a hint of liquorice and cedar box. Palate is highly elegant with a round structure and a generous finish. A superb bottle that would easily stand up when compared to many Châteauneuf-du-pape!

Robert Parker Wine Advocate

92/100 "Aged all in demi-muid and incorporating 40% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre, the Syrah-dominated 2015 Valreas Quintessence shows its Grenache component with its jammy raspberry and blackberry fruit, chalky minerality, and licorice aromas and flavors. Like the Passion d’Une Terre, it has real class in its medium to full-bodied richness, sexy texture and pure, clean finish."
