"This is a terrific wine" - Robert Parker. Château Charmail is a hidden gem in the Cru Bourgeois world, and we have been lucky to get our hands on this 2010. Very consistent over the years - even in difficult vintages - it has a growing and well-deserved reputation. Medium to full-bodied, it shows fine aromas of small berries and spices, ending on a light wooden touch. Tannins are present but well-balanced. A perfect wine for a festive meal, absolutely ready to drink now or in the next few years.

16+/20 "Dark crimson. Very smooth and evolved on the rather sumptuous palate. Polished, seductive ripe Cabernet almost disguises the still-present, lightly dusty tannins. Offers an alluring combination of present and future pleasure."
91/100 "This is a terrific wine from another estate that has a consistent record of excellence for close to two decades. The blend in 2010 is 50% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest mostly Cabernet Franc with just a touch of Petit Verdot. This wine became famous because of its extraordinarily long, pre-fermentation cold soak of over two weeks. This continues under the new administration, and the alcohols achieved in 2010 are at 14.2%. The wine is a big, rich, sleeper of the vintage with loads of blackberry and floral-infused blueberry fruit. Sitting across from Sociando-Mallet, this estate is certainly well-located, resting on well-drained, gravelly soils with some veins of clay running through them. The 2010 is medium to full-bodied, pure, quite fragrant and capable of lasting at least a decade."
15/20 "From a very fine terroir in northern Médoc, this wine offers black fruit with spicy and slightly woody notes. Dense, balanced, the palate has a beautiful structure and a long finish. A reference."
