Cahors is one of the most emblematic appellations in the South West and it’s the obvious choice to discover the region. Sometimes called the “Black Wine” given its dark colour, Cahors wines are mainly made of Malbec, which may be blended with other grapes like Merlot or Tannat. Château du Caillau is a typical Cahors with a modern touch, made to drink young. We love its rich palate loaded with fruit - black cherry, cassis and blueberry. Fleshy tannins are balanced by a nice acidity and oak barrel fermentation enhances the structure. A great pick for amateurs of full-bodied wines!
