Equilibre is the flagship cuvée of Villa Symposia. Medium to full-bodied, it shows a very expressive and harmonious nose of ripe blackcurrant and spices, typical from Languedoc. On the palate, the wine has a good fruity structure with supple tannins. The finish is long with toasty notes coming from oak barrels. To our mind, this Cuvée is a big success and we loved it instantly. Amazing value for money for this bottle that has been rated 90 by Robert Parker!

90/100 "Not yet bottled, the 2015 Languedoc l'Equilibre checks in as a mix of 55% Syrah, 25% Carignan and the rest Grenache and Mourvèdre, aged in a mix of foudre and stainless steel. This medium-bodied, moderately concentrated red has plenty of charm and complex notes of spice, lavender, dried flowers and mostly red fruits (currants and strawberries). It should drink nicely right out of the gate."
87/100 "Savory, with grilled plum, dried herb and currant flavors, this medium-bodied red has a meaty edge, showing licorice, peppercorn and citrus flavors that linger into a moderately tannic finish. Offers fresh, integrated acidity. Drink now." (previous vintage)

89/100 "60% Syrah, using older vines. 30% Carignan and some Grenache Noir and a little Mourvèdre. The Syrah and Mourvèdre go into wood. Good colour. Quite a firm smoky nose, with a touch of oak. Quite structured and youthful, with good fruit; rounded and fresh with a good balance and well integrated oak. Opens up nicely in the glass." (previous vintage)
